Midday Wrap

Gorgeous Warm Summer days persist in here in the mountains with School holiday families and adventure seekers making the most from their break and finding the getaway here in Niseko just the ticket to relax and have fun. No shortage of culture and Summer festivals to attend to as well with the Kutchan Shrine Festival in full swing this last week displaying a couple of centuries of colorful and traditional local entertainment followed by awesome fireworks displays with dancing & street partying. The Rising Sun Rock Festival in Otaru, just a short distance away, is one of the biggest Music festivals in Japan with amazing outdoor stage settings at the new Bay Port Warf of Ishikari. These events in our local area are an absolute must, incredibly interesting as they truly define the essence and vibrant colours of Japanese tradition yet now staged in their modern world. Back in the village itself, restaurants and activity centers are booked with our busiest July August guest numbers on record. True testament of this region when considering the sheer beauty and quality of life in this very special part of the world. The weather god is calling temps of 29 -34 degrees over the next few days, so aquatic activities in our crystal clear rivers, lakes and west coast beaches will be all the more inviting. As always, have fun and play wisely.
